Mary's specialisms lie in economic development and social policy, with particular expertise in economic regeneration, employability and skills policy. She has extensive experience of public sector interventions, opportunities for social enterprise, commercial markets and public services.Mary has many years of experience of bringing people together to deliver substantial pieces of research and consultancy across a range of projects and sectors. A key strength is her ability to pull together very specific skills sets within closely managed teams through her strong network of associates. Mary Jarvie established the firm in May 2009, based on twenty years of experience in economic development spanning the public, private and third sectors.
Before holding a senior position in an economic consultancy firm, Mary was responsible for economic development policy for Scottish local government at CoSLA. She has previously held positions in Higher Education, local authorities and for a national charity. She has operated at senior strategic levels, as well as formerly holding roles including project manager, policy manager and co-ordinator in the charity sector, in local government and latterly in the private sector. Mary established a successful trading social enterprise in the South East of England in the early 90's and chaired its Board of Directors, and she currently works as a volunteer for a sizeable local charity.
